Hi My Favorite Finds readers! It’s Shatzi from Love and Laundry! I’m really excited to be here with my monthly seasonal craft!
Okay, before I get started, a few things.
1. I have an unnaturally large number of empty 8×10 frames. How I acquired this collection is absolutely beyond me!
2. I’ve been back to school shopping all week! I made the mistake of taking my two boys to the dentist and then school supply shopping. School supply plus regular shopping. The school supply part took us a good hour. They were done before we even got to the regular shopping. Thank goodness we scored such great deals! Can you believe school supply lists these days! I’m totally okay with a million erasers – I know how much my kids erase. But, 10 spiral bound notebooks for a 4th grader? I can’t imagine why she needs so many all of a sudden! It’ll be fun to watch what she uses them for!
3. At our house, we love teachers! Not only are 2 of my 3 kids in school but my husband has worked in education for the better part of a decade. He’s been a school counselor for the last several years but just got hired as an Elementary Principal! We are so excited for this adventure ahead!! All of his work in the school system has given me a great appreciation for all of our wonderful teachers! They super rock!!
My kids don’t actually go back to school until after Labor Day, but I know that kids are starting school all over the place! It’s got me thinking a lot about teachers and how much we love them. I actually had my project picked out with a different quote. When I jumped on my Silhouette to cut out the vinyl, I couldn’t help but check out the online store. I ran across this gem and couldn’t help but use it! (It’s shape 42684 if you want to download it yourself!)
I really love this quote! I think sometimes we forget what a huge influence our teachers have on our kids!
This is super easy to make! I wanted the background paper to be interchangeable, so I cut vinyl out and put in on the frame. You can put in on the inside or the outside, just make sure that if you want it on the inside, you’ll need to reverse the image before you cut it.
So, all you need is an empty frame, scrapbook paper, and vinyl to cut with your Cricut or Silhouette! Super easy and my kind of project!!
Thanks for letting me visit, Carrie! It’s been so fun being here today!
