Over the summer, I suggested some ideas for a back to school teacher gift. I couldn’t decide between these cute ideas I had found, and decided to go with something that incorporated the best of both. I didn’t have enough time to order some vinyl lettering, so I called my sister and her husband of A+ Designs and asked them to do a glass etching on the vases. Love them!
As far as cost goes, the vases were at Target for $10 each. The pencils were on sale for .89 a pack, and I already had the gift wrap and ribbons. They gave me a generous discount on the etching :). So, overall, this really nice teacher gift cost me less than $15 a piece. Since I have the twins, that means double everything, but it was worth it. Both teachers LOVED these personalized gifts. I’m glad I went with their last name initial, instead of “Mrs. __________ Classroom”. As a former classroom teacher, I have some really nice gifts with my name on them, but I can’t really use them anyone else except a classroom. These they can use at home, too.
A+ Designs will etch almost anything that is glass or stone for you. They’ve made beautiful designs in rocks for the front yard, cemetery headstones, shadowboxes, picture frames, cookie jars…you name it, they can pretty much do it!
