However, I decided to put two of my purchases from Pick Your Plum to good use. One was some chalkboard vinyl and the other were small wooden plaques. They’ve been sitting in my craft cabinet, waiting for good use. I used them to create chalkboard labels for the bins in my daughter’s room.
*Circle cutting templates, Cricut, etc.
The directions aren’t really step by step….it’s more just how you want to design the labels. So, I started by painting the wood lime green. Then, as the paint was drying, I cut some 4 1/2 in. flowers using the Cherry Limeade cartridge for my Cricut. Next, I cut 4 in. circles of the chalkboard vinyl using the same flower pattern. I put a thin layer of mod podge on the back of the scrapbook paper flower and adhered it to the wood plaque. I then applied a thin layer over the top of the flower to make sure the edges were down really well.
After the mod podge was dry, I adhered the vinyl flower in the center of the paper flower. Finally, I hot glued the wood plaque onto the front of the canvas bin. I used my chalkboard markers, that I use for my menu board, to mark the bins.
