Today I want to share with you things you won’t want to miss at Disney’s Animal Kingdom! Animal Kingdom is the largest of Disney’s four parks. If you have an animal lover in your family, Animal Kingdom is for sure a place to visit. Here are our favorite attractions at Disney’s Animal Kingdom:
1. The Kilimanjaro Safari. On this attraction, you board a safari vehicle that transports you into the wilds. You’ll encounter giraffes, lions, rhinoceros, zebras, gazelles, and many other wild animals. The cast members who drive the safari buses are so knowledgeable, and are great about stopping the bus so you can get some great photos and enjoy the animals. Not to worry, the animals don’t come up to the bus, but they are close enough that you can get great views of them.
2. Mickey’s Jammin’ Jungle Parade. This parade takes place every day, around 3:45. We love to see the main Disney characters dressed in their jungle best during this parade. It’s led by Rafiki, the famous character from The Lion King. You’ll see very unique floats, jungle vehicles, and stunt walkers as you enjoy this parade. The music is super fun, and we love seeing some unique characters like Baloo and King Louie.
3. The Festival of the Lion King. We all know Disney is in the entertainment business! This is our family’s favorite attraction at Animal Kingdom. The music is so awesome, the costumes are amazing, and the choreography is unmatched. You’re in for a GREAT treat if you take in the Festival of the Lion King show!
4. Expedition Everest and Kali River Rapids. These two attractions are super fun for the whole family! Expedition Everest features the story of the great Yeti. As you wait, the area is filled with artifacts from past Everest trips, Yeti drawings, and facts about the great Mount Everest. The Expedition Everest attraction is a roller coaster, and just when you think you’ve reached the end of the “damaged” track, it begins going backward in search of the Yeti. Kali River Rapids is a large boat ride that takes you through falls and rushing rivers of the Kali River. Might want to wear a poncho on that one!
These attractions, plus the walking trails to enjoy exotic animals and meet some of your favorite characters make Disney’s Animal Kingdom a park to visit! I hope you’ll add it to your itinerary on your next trip!
