Dinner at Chef Mickey’s was a FANTASTIC experience for our family! We had decided to go with the Quick Service Dining Plan while on our vacation. What that means is, we each were entitled to two meals and one snack per night at any counter service restaurant on Disney property. Since we also wanted some character meal experiences, we chose to do two and just pay for them out of pocket, as they weren’t part of our entitlements on the Quick Service Dining Plan.
For our first night, which was a non park day, we started with some Disney magic at Chef Mickey’s for dinner. Awesome!!! We had never done a character meal on a Disney vacation before, and now I’m sure we’ll do at least one on every trip. You are shown to your table, and that’s when the fun starts. There is a huge buffet with everything from soup and salad to pasta, seafood, carved meats, and their famous mashed potatoes. Plus, the dessert area with fixings for sundaes, petit fours, and baked goods.
The point of having a character meal is that the characters featured at that particular restaurant will come out at designated times and make their way around the dining room. They’ll stop at each table, sign autograph books and pose for pictures. It’s a great way to get a filling meal in, plus meet characters you enjoy instead of standing in lines at the parks to do so. At Chef Mickey’s you’ll find the Fab Five-Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, and Pluto. It was super fun, and I would highly recommend it!
