DIY Laundry Room Decals

Adding some laundry room decals to your washer and dryer is an easy way to spruce up your space. Today, I am going to show you how to make some DIY Laundry Room Decals!

My laundry room has become one of my favorites in every house we’ve owned. I love to take the time to make it pretty and a pleasant space-just like the rest of the house!  Since I spend so much time in there, why not?

Now that we have moved into a new home, our laundry room also doubles as an entryway from the garage, and is pretty drab. Not only do I want my laundry room to look cute, but it has to be functional. It’s not just a place to store things like backpacks, shoes, and other “must have” out the door essentials. It’s also an entryway, and a space we walk through every single day!

Making some laundry room decals is easy, adds some color pops, and really spruces up the space!

Materials for Laundry Room Decals

  • Silhouette Cameo or similar cutting machine
  • Transfer Tape
  • Cutting Mat
  • Weeding Tools

How to Make Laundry Room Decals

First, open your Silhouette software.  Choose a font from your list and type the word WASH and then DRY.

I chose KG Be Still and Know for my font.  From there, size your font so it will fit centrally on your washer and dryer.

Next, choose a simple shape, like a flower, to frame the edges of your word.  For mine, I chose a flower to add some fun to my decals.  This is a great time to use the “Replicate” function.  Choose “Object” from the drop down menu and choose “Replicate Right”.

Cut your words and flowers.  I chose to use two colors, and cut the flower framing the word in the opposite color.  So I have aqua WASH and gray flowers, and gray DRY and aqua flowers.

Then, weed the excess vinyl away and apply transfer tape to your decals.  Make sure the surface of your washer and dryer are clean before applying the vinyl.

Finally, gently peel off the backing of the vinyl and place it on your machine.  At an angle, gently peel off the transfer tape and you are done!

Cute, right?  This is a simple, easy way to spruce up your laundry room.  Will you be making some laundry room decals?
