Quite awhile ago, I participated in the Ultimate Blog Swap with Stacia from Dried on Milk. She was my “guest poster”, and she submitted several recipes for homemade cleaners-including dishwasher detergent. I FINALLY got around to making some last weekend, and I can’t tell you how much I love it!
Ingredients: (I only made half a batch because I wanted to try it before making a lot)
*1/2 cup Super Washing Soda
*1/2 cup 20 Mule Team Borax
*1/4 cup citric acid (aka Fruit Fresh, in the canning aisle)
*1/4 cup coarse salt
Mix everything together in a bowl and store it in a glass jar. Use 1-2 Tablespoons per load in the dishwasher. I use an old coffee scoop to measure mine out.
So, I love it. It was so easy, and the boxes of Super Washing Soda and 20 Mule Team Borax (both of which I found in the laundry aisle) will make plenty. I can use these for homemade laundry detergent, too, which is my next venture.
Have you tried any homemade cleaners? What is your opinion?
