Happy New Year! I’ve been diligently planning our menus every week of 2011-except for two. That’s FIFTY weeks of menus, and our life is much more organized because of it. I can’t tell you how menu planning takes so much stress off of me as the grocery shopper and preparer of meals in our home.
Sure, there’s flexibility, there’s leftovers, and there are times when I don’t feel like making what I’ve planned. But the other day, my son was looking at our menu board. He said, “Mommy, that’s from last week.” He was right…I hadn’t rewritten that week’s menu up on the board yet, but I realized something. My family has grown to depend on that visual reminder of what is in their meal future for the week. It’s nice to see them depending on the tool that I use to keep part of our life running smoothly.
