I know, I know….it’s only the week before Halloween, and here I am writing a post on Advent Calendars. I have never done a homemade one, but I think it would be fun. My children always get the large chocolate ones from my in laws, and have so much fun opening them. Last year they had the Playmobil one…which was sort of a nightmare because two children + only one surprise per day =insanity, fighting, and slight irritation for everyone.
I think that part of the fun in making one will be what I make it out of, and what I put in each day counting down. Here are some ideas from my Pinterest Christmas Board.
The “traditional” chocolate filled one that each of my children get from my in laws.
Popsicle sticks, paint, yarn, and some paper-looks cute, reusable, and easy.
I love this sock one. It is so cute!
Clothespins, paint, and a piece of wood could make this peg advent calendar
A simple countdown with clothespins and sweet printable labels.
Instead of “treats” or trinkets, what about filling each day with a fun activity?
