This is becoming one of my favorite cookie recipes. It’s from a Gooseberry Patch recipe book–Best Ever Cookies They’re sort of “non traditional”…I grew up, and my kids are growing up, enjoying my grandma’s homemade white sugar cookies. I had actually never had brown sugar cookies before, and was curious to give them a try. Yum! These cookies are SO good, and are so great for my toddler daughter because they are so soft. Also, they are great iced or plain, and I changed the icing recipe because I like it with a little cream cheese :). As a special touch, I also sprinkled some with cinnamon.
Soft Brown Sugar Cookies:
2/3 c butter, softened
1 1/2 c packed brown sugar

1 t baking soda
1/2 t salt
1 c sour cream
1. Blend the brown sugar and the butter. Add eggs, and blend well.
2. Add the vanilla.
3. Mix the dry ingredients together. Add these to the mixing bowl, alternating between sour cream and dry ingredients.
4. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a cookie sheet.
5. Bake for 8-10 minutes at 350 degrees.
1 Tablespoon soft butter
1 Tablespoon soft cream cheese
1 c powdered sugar
1-2 Tablespoons milk
Mix together until smooth. Spread lightly onto cooled cookies.
