Creating a Advent Christmas Countdown is something our family really looks forward to. We love to celebrate Advent, and really focus on the birth of Jesus and preparing our hearts for Christmas. Even though the kids get those fun chocolate Advent calendars, I also wanted to create this easy Advent Star Christmas Countdown using DecoArt’s Multisurface paints, as well as my Silhouette Cameo. So for this month’s Silhouette Challenge, I’m showing you how to use the trace function on your Silhouette Cameo. Later this month, I’ll show you the full tutorial for this Advent to Christmas Star. Today, we are going to focus on using the trace function with your Silhouette.
So the newest, greatest little tool showed up at my house last week. It’s from the Sensory Emporium, an Etsy shop that sells items made with a Silhouette Cameo, as well as tools to use with it. It’s a pen holder! EEEEK! I was SO excited to get this I can’t even tell you! I am thinking of a million uses for this little fun tool. Think how pretty your Christmas card envelopes will look, add a cute touch to gift tags, even draw fun pictures or create art work for your home. I absolutely love it! For this month’s Silhouette Challenge, I decided to show you all how awesome this sweet pen holder can be.
I created this Family Photo Tile for the August Silhouette Challenge, using an idea I had seen in one of my Cameo Facebook groups. Yes, Facebook groups exist for those of us who loooove our Cameos and let me say, the groups I’m in are super helpful! Anyway, I created the Family Photo Tile using a 12×12 tile that my husband has scads of. He bought them at Home Depot, on major clearance, and must have at least three boxes of them :).
