The Best Parade Viewing Spots at the Magic Kingdom

I love a good Magic Kingdom parade!  Festival of Fantasy at Magic Kingdom has always been my favorite. Where is the best parade viewing spot at the Magic Kingdom?  I have the best parade viewing spots at Magic Kingdom!

The Magic Kingdom is my favorite of the Walt Disney World theme parks. Part of what I love is the daily 3PM parade, Festival of Fantasy. Not to mention, they host parades for both Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party exclusively for party guests.

With the reopening of the Walt Disney World theme parks, guests will also find the fun character cavalcades in Magic Kingdom at various times of day! With the parade and cavalcade options, you are sure to spot your favorite characters!

At Magic Kingdom, all the parades and cavalcades are on the same route, so finding a viewing spot is easy with some quick tips!

Best Magic Kingdom Parade Viewing Spots in the Front of the Park

Main Street USA, by the Emporium is definitely one of the BEST parade viewing spots in all of Magic Kingdom. It’s so classic!

I love this spot for a lot of reasons.  First, it gives you a great backdrop of Cinderella’s Castle for the Festival of Fantasy parade as it comes up Main Street USA.  Second, there are so many fun shops and street performers to keep you entertained while you are waiting for the parade to come.   When you photograph the parade, you’ll have Main Street USA in the background, as well as the castle.  Also, if you are planning on leaving the park afterward, you can get out quickly.  It will also give you a good viewing point for Happily Ever After.

Main Street USA at the train station.  This is another great spot!  While you are waiting, you can easily see Mickey Mouse in Town Square. One tip for this area is to stay on the sidewalk, not going up to the train platform.  I think the landing area gets very crowded, and you have to get there very early to get a spot.  Also, if you are planning to leave the park after the parade, being at the train station gives you a quick exit point.

The Best Magic Kingdom Parade Viewing Spots in the Back of the Park

Frontierland, across from the Country Bear Jamboree.  I know, odd spot, right?  However, we do like this spot for a few reasons.  First, it is toward the beginning of the parade route, no matter which parade you are seeing. So after the parade passes by, we can get on Big Thunder or Haunted Mansion, either with a Disney Genie+ we scheduled or a low standby wait time.  Another great advantage is we don’t have to get a spot so early in this area.  If we were on Main Street, we’d stake it out about an hour or so before.  If we are back here in Frontierland, we can get a spot about 30 minutes before.

Liberty Square, in front of the Christmas Shoppe.  This is quite possibly my favorite Magic Kingdom parade viewing spot.  First, it’s close to Sleepy Hollow and I love having a Fruit and Nutella Waffle while I wait for the parade!  Second, you get a fun view of the parade as it comes up from the hub.  I also like it because it’s not as crowded as Main Street USA.  It also gives a nice vantage point of Cinderella’s Castle when it’s lit up, making a nice background for photos.

So there you have it.  The Five Best Parade Viewing Spots at Magic Kingdom.  Which is your favorite?

  1. I would have never thought of some of these spots! Great tips!

    1. Thank you! There are some great places to view the parades at Magic Kingdom!

  2. great parade spot suggestions. When i viewed it in August I saw it once from Liberty Square and once from opposite Peco Bills. Liberty square was the quietest but I think it was a quieter day anyway.

    1. I try to get opposite of Pecos Bill’s, but I still prefer Liberty Square.

  3. My family has ‘our spot’ we always like to stand in, but I never thought about being near the railway station. It would make exiting the park after much easier!!!

    1. I know! I feel like that area could be a bit crowded, but it is a good spot to exit quickly!

  4. The next time I am at Magic Kingdom I am going to take your advice and try to watch the parade by Liberty Square in front of the Christmas Shop. I never find a spot I like.

    1. I don’t think there is a bad spot! I am sure you will like all of them!

  5. For the first time this past September, we watched the Boo to You parade from Frontierland and it was SO worth it! Great spot!

    1. Thanks, Adrianne! Frontierland is the BEST viewing spot! So glad you enjoyed it!

Thanks for the great tips!! Can I ask you a reason why opposite side of the Country Bear Jamboree instead of in front of it? I would think the sun will be really hot (well we are going in early May) and in your face and it might not be enjoyable. Also, when taking pictures the camera’s facing the sun so it might not turn out very nice. I want to know if there is something I am missing.

    1. So, yes. That can be the case, especially in the summer heat. If you are in front of it, I think it tends to get crowded quickly because in that area, there are some places to sit. However, while that is not a bad thing, it’s not easy to get a spot there last minute. If you are opposite Country Bears, you can make a quick exit to Big Thunder, Splash, or over to Fantasyland because you are on that side of the street. But, great point about the sun!
