20 + Disney’s Animal Kingdom Tips, Tricks, and At Home Fun
Did you know that Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park opened on Earth Day, April 22, 1998? Walt Disney World added this fourth park, to bring a whole new way for families to interact with and enjoy animals. Today, I have put together over 20 tips, tricks, recipes, and must dos for Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park is known for its atmosphere to bring guests up close and personal with their favorite wild life. It’s not “just a zoo”! Guests can also fully immerse themselves in the African culture with a stay at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. This resort is truly a destination of itself, and a perfect Disney resort option for families who want to concentrate on a resort heavy stay for their trip. You are in a completely different world at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge!
A Few Facts about Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park:
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park is the largest of the 4 Walt Disney World Parks. It is over 500 acres, and is home to over 1,000 animals!
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park is a testament of some of Walt Disney’s own ideas, long before the park ever opened. Disney cast animals as the main characters in many of his films, and always had a respect for nature and animals.
The Tree of Life, the park icon, is 14 stories tall and features over 300 animal carvings.
From an overhead view, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park is shaped like Africa.
A Few Facts about Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge:
Animal Kingdom Lodge is home to roughly 250 animals. You can see these as you walk around the resort, even a flock of flamingos by the pool!
The animals at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge stay out all night, unlike the animals at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park. These animals at the lodge roam all night, and are not called in at dark.
The animals are called in early in the morning by their keepers for feeding, physical checks, and so the savanna areas can be cleaned.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge offers many special experiences to guests. You can dine with an animal specialist, enjoy a meal at sunset with a savanna view, and even take backstage kitchen tours of the restaurants.
