Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park is a testament of some of Walt Disney’s own ideas, long before the park ever opened.  Disney cast animals as the main characters in many of his films, and always had a respect for nature and animals.

The Tree of Life, the park icon, is 14 stories tall and features over 300 animal carvings.

Animal Kingdom Lodge is home to roughly 250 animals. You can see these as you walk around the resort, even a flock of flamingos by the pool!

The animals at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge stay out all night, unlike the animals at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park.  These animals at the lodge roam all night, and are not called in at dark.

The animals are called in early in the morning by their keepers for feeding, physical checks, and so the savanna areas can be cleaned.
