3D Flower Wreath
Well, it was time for the Ribbon and Glitter Wreath to go. I needed something a little more spring/summerish to dress up our front door. When I saw this super cute wreath on The Cards We Drew, I was hooked. But…..I really wanted to use my Silhouette Cameo. Then I noticed this one on Tales of the Scotts from Pinworthy Projects a few weeks ago and I pinned and featured it. Another cute wreath using paper….I thought I could make one myself. That’s when I decided to use the same flower pattern I had used to make the 3D Wallflowers for Natalie’s room. A super cute wreath was born!
Supplies:
1 Foam wreath form {this is the fifth time I’ve reused this same one}
Yarn, ribbon, or fabric
4 pages of 12×12 scrapbooking paper
Cut flowers {I used my Cameo, but I’m sure you could cut them by hand or use a paper punch}
Hot glue
Embellishments
Directions:
1. Wrap your foam wreath form with yarn, ribbon, or fabric. I wrapped mine with bright pink yarn. Trust me, wrapping a wreath form in yarn takes a gazillion years. I was reminding myself the whole time that after I yarn wrapped my Monogram Wreath, I was NEVER doing this again…..
2. Cut out enough flowers to cover your wreath. I ended up with 14 flowers. I cut the larger pattern for the flower, and the smaller pattern for the inside.
3. Score and fold your flowers. For more details, follow the tutorial HERE. I found hers to be the most helpful.
4. Layer the smaller flower on the larger flower in the center. Secure it with hot glue. Then, add beads, etc. to the center with hot glue.
5. Arrange your flowers on your wreath form and start adhering them with hot glue.
6. Tie a ribbon at the top to secure it to the wreath hanger.
What do you think? Do you make wreaths for your home? I’d love to hear about them!
This is so cute Carrie! I love it! My front door gets way too much direct sunlight so it would fade that pretty paper in no time 🙁 But I could definitely do this for inside my house!
I love your wreath! So fun and cute. I would love for you to share this on my weekly link party Blog Stalking Thursday. Thanks for the inspiration!
