5 Magical Reasons to Love Disney’s Value Resorts
Disney’s Value Resorts are the ultimate location for a fan of Disney animation to call home. Larger than life Toy Story characters, Dalmatians around every corner, and perfectly themed suites make these resorts fantastic for families. You don’t have to go far, or spend a lot of money, to feel as if you are completely immersed in the Disney magic when you stay at a value resort.
The resorts at Walt Disney World are categorized by three tiers ~ Deluxe, Moderate, and Value. With each of these tiers comes different experiences, amenities, and room types. Not only those, but each as a different price point. Disney’s Value Resorts are the lowest nightly rate hotels on Disney property. But that doesn’t mean they are low on experience or fun!
In my mind, the value resorts are great for first time visitors with little kiddos. They are full of fun decor, the suites are great for families, and you truly feel immersed in Disney. Guests who want a more muted tone to their resort, or perhaps to be closer to some of the parks, would find the values inconvenient. But that is the beauty of the Disney resorts ~ something for everyone!
Which resorts are in the value category?
Disney has five resorts in the value category. Disney’s All Star Movies, All Star Sports, and All Star Music, Pop Century, and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. Of those, Disney’s Art of Animation and Pop Century are close to each other ~ they share a walking bridge and both allow guests Skyliner access. Disney’s All Star Resorts allow guests to share pools, amongst them, and are often used for larger groups such as sports and cheer teams.
What do guests love about these resorts?
First and foremost, the price point is just right. For many guests, staying on Disney property and being in the “bubble”are the beginning steps in planning a magical Disney vacation. And on the other hand, there is also the cost. That is the happiness behind the value resorts. Families can enjoy a stay on Disney property, at a well themed resort, for a good rate!
The theming of the value resorts is spot on. You can’t deny the fact that the value resorts at Walt Disney World have the heart of true Disney animation. This is particularly true at Disney’s Art of Animation and All Star Movies resorts. Art of Animation has taken your favorite Disney/PIXAR Movies and brought them to life. The suites are great for families, and are themed after Cars, Lion King, and Finding Nemo. Art of Animation is also home to the well themed Little Mermaid Standard Rooms for smaller families. At All Star Movies, giant Toy Story icons, Dalmatians, and famous characters from Fantasia decorate the grounds.
Also, many family friendly dining options are at the value resorts. One thing that puts the value resorts above the moderates and deluxe resorts are their food court offerings. For families with picky eaters or if you just want simple but good food during your stay, the value resorts are the best option. Most of the food areas have several stations where you can customize your order. There are many snack options, some even have a gelato case or specialty cupcakes. Pop Century is a GREAT example of a wonderful food court. Even guests not staying at Pop will hop over there to get Tie Dye Cheesecake or to eat in the food court.
The value resorts can accommodate large families. Both All Star Music and Art of Animation have family suites. These have two full bathrooms, plenty of sleeping space for everyone, and a small kitchenette. Often getting a family suite is cheaper than two rooms, and you have the kitchenette amenity. The added bonus of Art of Animation is the Skyliner, and they have dedicated buses to and from the parks They are definitely thought out with families in mind!
Disney’s value resorts are easy to navigate. For the most part, the buildings are visually different, making it easy to find your building and your room. Each resort has a main building at the front of the resort, and this is also where you will find the bus stops. The value resorts only have one bus depot per resort. Everything is very accessible, including the food court and main pool. With everything centralized, it’s easy to get around and find your way.
Disney’s Value Resorts are a magical place to call home. If saving a little money, well themed resorts, and staying in the Disney bubble are a “must do” for you on your Disney trip….a value resort is perfect!
