- Baking powder
- Salt
- Nutmeg {yes, I know! But trust me, it makes them yummy!}
- Chocolate Chips
- Eggs
- Milk
- Vegetable Oil
- Melted Butter
- Vanilla Extract
Pretty standard ingredients! When you mix all of them together, you are going to be rewarded with these gorgeous muffins to indulge in any time of day.
How to Make Chocolate Chip Muffins
- In a mixing bowl, combine your dry ingredients. This is your flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg. Also, add a cup of chocolate chips.
- Preheat your oven to 425 degrees. In a separate bowl, combine your eggs, milk, vegetable oil, melted butter, and vanilla.
- Make a well in the dry ingredients. Pour the wet ingredients into it and mix until it is just combined. Set this aside and cover it. Let it rest for about 15 minutes.
- While the batter is resting, line the muffin tin with paper or silicone cups. Fill your cups with batter to the top. After you have filled the muffin cups, top the muffins with chocolate chips.
- Bake the muffins at 425 for 7 minutes. THEN, while the door is still closed, turn down the heat to 350 and let them bake for another 14-16 minutes.
- Allow them to cool in the muffin tin, and then remove to a wire rack to finish cooling.
Best Tips for Amazing Bakery Muffins
- When you toss chocolate chips in flour, it keeps them from sinking to the bottom of your batter. This is why it is important to add them in the dry ingredients.
- Be sure your butter has cooled a bit, so you don’t cook the eggs when you add it to the mixture.
- Use an ice cream scoop or 1/4 cup measuring cup to fill your muffin liners. Make sure you fill them to the top!
- For an extra sweet touch, sprinkle the tops with sanding sugar!
- Baking them at a high temperature, and then lowering it helps them get those perfectly domed tops.
