Best Pirate Themed Experiences at Walt Disney World

Pirate themed experiences are one of our favorite activities at Walt Disney World.  Walt Disney World is full of princesses, and of course our little princess loves all of those experiences.  But what about the pirate in you?  Pirate patches, mermaid makeovers, swords…Walt Disney World has some magical ways to bring out the pirate in you. I have put together our favorite pirate themed experiences at Walt Disney World to celebrate today~Talk Like a Pirate Day!

Best Pirate Themed Experiences at Walt Disney World

The Pirates’ League ~ Located in Magic Kingdom Park, the Pirates’ League is a perfect pirate experience for the whole family! They will make over adults, and I think that makes it extra fun.  You have several package options to choose from. They start at $34.95, which is not overly expensive, in my opinion. You have 10 package options, ranging from a basic Skulls and Scurry Package to the Captain Hook Deluxe Package.  You definitely need reservations to enjoy an experience at The Pirates’ League.  You can leave looking like a mermaid, empress, or a pirate.  And the experience is very magical! Even the princesses in your family will enjoy the makeover experience-the mermaid package looks GREAT with an Ariel costume!

A Pirate’s Adventure-Treasure of the Seven Seas ~ Also located in Adventureland at Magic Kingdom, you can set off on an adventure to find hidden treasure.  I love this experience because it keeps you contained in Adventureland, so my older two can experience it while I sit with the stroller and relax. There are 5 adventures to choose from, and you can complete as many as you’d like.  And, it’s FREE! The treasure maps make a great free souvenir.  Each mission takes about 20 minutes, and you pick up your talisman {the special card for the adventure} at the Crow’s Nest in Adventureland.  This is a wonderful activity when you need a slight break from attractions, but you don’t want to leave the park!

Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage ~ This is hands down my favorite pirate adventure at Walt Disney World.  Captain Hook, Mr. Smee, some of their pirate friends, and even Peter Pan make an appearance at this adventure. It departs from Disney’s Contemporary Resort and gives you an incredible view of the Magic Kingdom fireworks show. You begin the evening with snacks, drinks, and a meet and greet with Captain Hook and Mr. Smee. Then, you embark on your adventure out on the lagoon. After singing pirate songs, hearing jokes, playing games, and seeing the fireworks, you return to the Contemporary to be greeted by Peter Pan at the end of your voyage.

Character Meet and Greets in the Disney Parks ~ Where can you find your favorite pirates and their friends at Walt Disney World? You can find Peter Pan Fantasyland, just outside Peter Pan’s Flight. This is one of the most adorable meet and greets.  The back drop for photos is great, and Peter Pan is so much fun! Want to see Jake?  He can be found at Hollywood and Vine at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.  Jake from Jake and the Neverland Pirates meets guests at their tables to interact and sign autographs. Captain Hook and Mr. Smee?  These are definitely more elusive characters, and can sometimes be found at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. To make sure you meet them, you will want to book a Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage.
