BOO Burlap Wreath

Happy Monday, everyone!  I’m SO SUPER EXCITED today because I get to participate in a DISNEY GIFT CARD GIVEAWAY and share my first project as part of the fun Halloween POPCORN Blog Hop with Laura Kelly Designs.  Have you seen those super cute Peeps on the back of people’s cars?  Well, chances are Laura Kelly designed them!  And, I had an opportunity to network with her at BloggyCon 2013.  So, as a result, I get to join in on the Halloween POPCORN Box Blog Hop with Laura and a bunch of awesome designers.  Eeep!  Anyway, we were given a popcorn box, and instructed to make something out of it-to upcycle it.  Want to see what I did with mine?!  Here you go! BOO Burlap Wreath created with an upcycled popcorn box, burlap, and vinyl. So easy and cute!

Materials

1 foam wreath form

1 popcorn box

Burlap

White spray paint

Leaves, vinyl, other fall embellishments

Hot glue, stick pins

BOO Wreath2

Directions

1.  Begin by cutting your popcorn box on the folds, so you end up with 4 individual sides.  Give them a coat of white spray paint.

2.  While the spray paint is drying, wrap your wreath form in burlap, securing with T-pins.  I like to secure it with T-pins because when it’s time to make a Christmas wreath, I can easily remove the burlap and use the wreath form again.

3.  Cut out the word BOO, and some ovals, with some black vinyl.  I used my Silhouette, but you could use another craft cutter, or even stickers to make the letters.

4.  Add the vinyl to the popcorn box sides, with the scalloped side down so it looks like a ghost. 5.  Hot glue the “ghosts” onto the wreath, wherever you want :).  I added mine to the bottom so it looked like they were floating. 6.  Embellish the top of the wreath with leaves, pumpkins, whatever you have! What do you think?  I think it’s pretty cute!  Head over to Laura Kelly’s Inklings to check out the other adorable and fun Halloween projects!
