Breakfast at Boma at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge

If you are looking for a unique and delicious breakfast in a stunning environment, Boma at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is exactly what you need! This buffet style breakfast, located in the most stunning of all the Disney resorts, offers guests a taste of Africa alongside Simba waffles and family favorites!

Boma-Flavors of Africa serves both breakfast and dinner. For this post, I am focusing on breakfast! Despite being a somewhat picky eater, I found Boma to be delicious, and a chance to try some new foods. Plus, they serve POG Juice…..my Disney favorite! Side note, at Boma it’s known as “Jungle Juice”. This is the delicious Passionfruit, Orange, Guava concoction at Disney breakfasts. I just ask for a carafe right away :).

The giant floor to ceiling windows give guests beautiful views, and the decor is calming and sophisticated. As with everything on Disney property, the theming is important and key. There is even a huge table shaped like the continent of Africa for a large party!

What is on the Menu at Boma?

The buffet menu at Boma is extensive! Guests will find everything from fresh baked muffins to Turkey Bobotie. The menu includes:

  • Fresh pastries {muffins, cinnamon rolls}
  • Pancakes and Waffles
  • Steel Cut Oats
  • Cinnamon Raisin Bread Pudding
  • Carved Ham
  • Sausage, Bacon, and Breakfast Potatoes
  • Avocado, Papaya, Grapefruit Salad
  • Omelets
  • Deviled Eggs with Smoked Salmon

Guests will also find beautiful breakfast cocktails, and the famous Jungle Juice, alongside coffee and juices.

Where is Boma Located?

Boma is located at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, Jambo House. This is the main, large lodge you see in most photos! It is just off the lobby, down the stairs on the lower level. Guests are seated under African thatched ceilings with dark wood accents. It’s lovely! It is situated directly across from JIKO – The Cooking Place.

Near the entrance to Boma is a nice, large seating area and great bathrooms. It’s very family friendly! Boma feels secluded and quaint, as does the entire Animal Kingdom Lodge!

To access Boma from a theme park, guests need to take a Disney motorcoach to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, Jambo House. If you are accessing Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge from another resort, you will need to take a motorcoach to the nearest theme park and transfer to a bus for Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Why I Think Boma is “Worth It”:

Is Boma “worth it”? Yes. I do think so. For a few reasons!

It is budget friendly. Boma is $30 per adult and $17 per child plus tax and gratuity. As far as Disney restaurants go, this one is very budget friendly!

Also, it brings you to one of the most gorgeous resorts ~ Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge ~ on property. Take time to explore the resort before or after you eat! You can see the animals from the large windows in the lobby, and enjoy the wood carver in the lobby.

It is quiet AND family friendly. Since there are not any characters, Boma is not one I would consider a “frantic” buffet. The dark decor makes it calming, and there is SO much good food! Everyone in your family will love it!

It’s well organized. There are plates situated at various stations, so you can easily access what you need quickly. The first food you come upon is African inspired. But if that is not your cup of tea, making your way down the line you will quickly find some “traditional” American breakfast favorites.

Overall, Boma is a fantastic experience for everyone in your travel party! Will your family be enjoying Boma on your next Walt Disney World vacation?
