Chunky Avocado Salsa
Avocados are my favorite ingredient for summer dishes. On burgers, in salads, topping fajitas, or alongside my favorite beverage in a dip or salsa-give me avocado, and I am a happy girl! This recipe is savory, yummy, and SO easy! I feel like avocados are always mushed up for guacamole, but it doesn’t have to be that way!
This easy salsa has all the ingredients of a fresh salsa-and the avocados add a creamy, rich texture to it. So good! Today I am going to share my Chunky Avocado Salsa recipe with you-in hopes that it becomes a backyard favorite while you are partying with neighbors this summer! I like to think of this as a fun twist on traditional guacamole….still the avocado and amazing flavors, but chunkier like a salsa!
Chunky Avocado Salsa Ingredients:
4 Ripe Avocados
2 Red Roma Tomatoes
2 Jalapeno Peppers
1/2 cup finely chopped red onion
4 Tablespoons finely chopped fresh cilantro
3 Tablespoons fresh squeezed lime juice
Salt to taste
How to Create the BEST Chunky Avocado Salsa
Finely chop all the above ingredients, and mix them gently together in a bowl. I suggest chopping the avocados last, so they don’t start browning. Also, be gentle with them. If they are nice and ripe, they will be soft. So gently remove the pit and then slowly slice off the skin so you can chop them into chunks.
Refrigerate for 2-3 hours, so the flavors can meld together . This is one of those that the longer it sits, the more flavorful it is. Also, I saved two of the avocado pits to keep in the salsa to keep the avocados nice and green.
Chunky Avocado Salsa is one of my favorites to serve for a quick neighborhood get together-and in our neighborhood, we have A LOT of impromptu get togethers in the summer. With so many new neighbors moving in, it’s fun to help them feel welcome at a BBQ, where they can get to know small groups of neighbors.
How will you add an extra touch to your neighborhood gatherings this summer?
