Disney Travel Journals
Keeping track of all that Disney magic can take a lot of work! And I want my kids to remember their trips as the years go by. Using Washi Tape can allow you to customize and decorate almost anything! The colors and patterns make any project impressive, and it’s an easy medium for kids to use as well!
As we travel so often to Walt Disney World, our kids learn and see so much during our trip. Each trip is different and unique, and at this age, they like to journal and keep track of their experiences. Also, when the kids are taken out of school to vacation, we are often asked that we incorporate education into our trip in some way. These DIY Disney Travel Journals are so fun for them to create, and then to take back to their classmates to show them all the fun we had!
EPCOT’s World Showcase is particularly educational, as you make your way through the pavilions. Each pavilion is staffed by Cast Members from that country, and my twins love interacting with them. Their accents are so fun, and the boys pick up facts and details from each country they may never learn in school! Not only can you learn in World Showcase, but also the Living with the Land attraction is a wealth of information. You can learn how they grow produce that is used in the parks, as well as take a Behind the Seeds Tour to learn so much more! Each park has their own unique ways of learning, but I feel the most occurs at EPCOT and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park.
So this year, I decided to create the boys new travel journals. In the past, we haven’t been as creative, and I knew using the Washi Tape would be so fun for us! I am hoping they will hold onto these journals, and look back at them when they are in high school to relive some of the memories!
What do you need to make Disney Travel Journals?
Rotary Cutter or scissors
Washi Tape {you can find this in the office aisle at Target, or at any craft store}
Small notebooks
Cutting Mat
Disney themed stickers
How to Make Your Disney Travel Journal
First, open your notebook and lay your notebook open face down so the cover is facing up, on the cutting mat.
Next, begin covering the cover with strips of washi tape, leaving about two inches or so off the ends. This will allow you to make a nice trim and have even edges.
Add the strips until you are happy with the results. It may take a few layers of tape to achieve the look you want.
When you are happy with it, trim the edges off with the rotary cutter. Next, embellish the front of your notebook with stickers, add your name, etc.
These Disney travel journals are the perfect place to keep your thoughts, as well as have a handy way to share about your Disney trip on the return home!
