DIY Disney Chalkboard Countdown
Creating a Disney Vacation Countdown is one of my favorite projects with my Silhouette Cameo! Today, I am sharing my Disney Vacation Countdown with you, as you count the days to your next Disney vacation!

We love a good, reusable Disney Vacation Countdown in our house. We have counted down to Disney trips in all sorts of ways over the years.

Everyone gets excited for their Walt Disney World vacation! Counting down with your family can be so fun, and you can even get creative with it!
One year, I made a simple countdown with post it notes, and wrote a fun fact about the Disney Parks for each day. As we took the post it notes off, a new fact was revealed as we counted down to our trip.
We’ve also had a fun treat each day leading up to our trip, as we get to be about 2 weeks from travel.
Having a Disney themed movie and food night is super fun, too! With so many great “copycat” Disney recipes out there, that is a fun and easy way to count down to your trip.
Or, sometimes we just resort to using a countdown app on our phones. Regardless, counting the days makes it super fun!
Creating a DIY Disney Vacation Countdown is one of the easier {I think} projects for both vinyl crafters AND Disney fans. Why not combine the love of both to create something fun? The supplies are minimal, and chances are, you already have them at home!

How to Make a DIY Chalkboard Disney Vacation Countdown
First, run a micro fiber cloth over your square board to make sure it’s smooth and ready for paint. You may also need to run a piece of sandpaper over it to make sure it’s extra smooth.
Next, give the square board a nice coat of white paint, and set it aside to dry.
From here, paint your tags with black chalkboard paint, and set those aside to dry.

While these are drying, start setting up your cut file in your software. The font options are endless with this! I like to use a non script and script font together on a lot of my projects. I think they both really pop that way!

After you have cut your vinyl, weed the excess and trim around the edges. Place a piece of transfer tape over the words, and gently peel the backing off. Align it on your board, and smooth it with a burnishing tool to get out any air bubbles.
Add your small nails and hang your tags on your board. The countdown is on!

There are so many fun ways to countdown to a Disney vacation! Creating this with your family will make your trip seem so much closer! When is your next Walt Disney World vacation?
