Dreamy Little Girl Room Decor
This post is sponsored by Plaid Crafts and Handmade Charlotte Stencils, in conjunction with Blueprint Social. All opinions are 100% mine.
When this box of crafty goodness arrived at my door, I knew I was going to have a super fun time creating something special for Natalie’s room. It was full of Plaid Craft’s FolkArt Multi Surface Paint and Handmade Charlotte Stencils! Her birthday is coming, so we are giving her room a little spruce up as part of her gift! We’re going with a “princess” theme, but not Disney princess {shocker, I know}. Instead, purple hues, pictures of her with her princess friends, and some new decor. An IKEA frame I had hanging around, from making our Disney countdown, is now transformed into a cute and easy piece to hang in our little princess’s room.
Materials
11×17 picture frame
FolkArt Multi Surface Paint {found at Michael’s}
Handmade Charlotte Stencils {found at Michael’s}
Paint brushes
Vinyl or letter stickers
Directions
1. Disassemble your picture frame. Using the FolkArt MultiSurface Paint, give the outer frame {mine is a melamine material} a good coat of paint. You might have to give it several, depending on the color you start with. My frame was originally black, and I primed it white. Then, I painted it Perfect Purple. Set aside to dry.
2. Paint the frame backing, in this case MDF, in Medium Gray. Set aside to dry.
3. After the frame backing is dry, apply the stencils. I decided to keep it simple, and use the chevron pattern at the top and at the bottom of the MDF backing. I stenciled the chevron in Bright Pink.
4. While the paint was drying, I cut out “A dream is a wish your heart makes. ~Cinderella” with my Silhouette Cameo. Using transfer paper, I centered the saying on the glass, so it was between the Handmade Charlotte Chevron stencil.
5. I reassembled my frame, and now I have a cute and easy birthday gift to wrap up for our princess’s new room!

I have to say, I LOVE Plaid Crafts, and I’m always happy with anything I use from them {hello Mod Podge!}. Since the paint is machine washable AND dishwasher safe, I can see myself using it on some upcoming projects as well. And, the stencils from Handmade Charlotte came in fun patterns, too. Like the chevron, polk dots, tear drops, and more. There are a TON of stencils and endless possibilities in the stencil pack.
You can check out Plaid Crafts on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and their Blog. Good luck in the giveaway! And, check out the craftiness from my fellow bloggers!
