Eight Places You MUST Experience with Your Family
Travel bucket list, must do’s, staycations….all of these things define in one way or another a family vacation. I love that so many families are jumping on the “experiences versus gifts” idea for holidays and birthdays. The world is wide open, and there are so many amazing places to visit! But with kids, all of different interests, how do you narrow it down? Well, I sourced some of my fellow bloggers, and we came up with some great ideas! I’m excited to share with you the Eight Places You MUST Experience with Your Family!
Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge at Walt Disney World OR Disneyland California. Regardless of the coast closest to you, Star Wars; Galaxy’s Edge is a great option for your family. Not only is the land amazingly immersive, Disney didn’t leave out any details in terms of food and drink, either! The Cast Members play the part of their land in an excellent way, and all the aspects are fantastic. Star Wars; Galaxy’s Edge is a great place to visit, even if you are not a huge Star Wars fan! Seeing the Millennium Falcon up close, being on Batuu, and observing all the happenings of Galaxy’s Edge will make your Disney trip extra magical!
Siesta Key, Florida. Siesta Key is one of those beautiful beaches on the Gulf Side of Florida. Personally, I find the Gulf Side to be the best side. The water is so clear, the shelling is great, the beaches are gorgeous….it’s a total win! It is only about 2 hours from Orlando, so it makes an easy day trip, or a way to start or end your time in Orlando. You will find the best sunsets here, as well as some fun places to eat and drink. Very, very family friendly!
Disney’s Beach Club Resort. Disney’s Beach Club Resort is located in the EPCOT are of Walt Disney World. You absolutely cannot go wrong with this Walt Disney World resort. First, it is a skip from the International Gateway of EPCOT’s World Showcase. Secondly, Stormalong Bay is the best pool on Walt Disney World property. The lazy river, beach area, and fun slide make it perfect if you are traveling with a family that has large age ranges. You can easily access Disney’s Hollywood Studios, as well as all the shops and restaurants in the Boardwalk area.
Universal Orlando Resort. Universal Orlando Resort has grown so much over the last few years. It has certainly become a vacation destination of its own, and no longer a “just gonna hop over to Universal for a day while I’m at Disney” park. You guys, it is amazing on so many levels! There is a Universal hotel for every family set up and every budget. Did you know that Universal Orlando is a completely walkable property? Sure, some places are farther from each other than others…but you can walk everywhere if you wanted to! Plus, add in the proximity of Universal Studios to Islands of Adventure, and you can hop back and forth all day long. Volcano Bay is a great addition to those waterpark fans, and they are always upping their game in the attraction and hotel department!
Tokyo, Japan. I know! So not near Florida, right? Even though this post seems to be about a lot of what is going on in Florida, Tokyo is a fantastic option as well! The Jones Family recently took on Tokyo, and they had an amazing time! This trip was even 100% planned by their kids! From beautiful gardens to the Pokemon Center, and of course a stop at Tokyo Disney Sea, you need to check out all their tips and tricks for taking on Tokyo!
Themed Disney Cruise Line Sailings. It is no question that we are huge fans of Disney Cruise Line, here on the site. But add in all the amazing magic of a Disney Cruise with a themed sailing Disney style….and you have a fantastic family vacation! Halloween on the High Seas, Very Merrytime Cruises, MARVEL Day at Sea, and Star Wars Day at Sea all add to the extra experiences you already love aboard the Disney Cruise Line ships. Booking a specially themed cruise with Disney makes for a very, very memorable experience for your family.
Jekyll Island, Georgia. Jekyll Island is one of those hidden gems along the coast. At the southern edge of Georgia, Jekyll Island is a quiet, very family beach. You have your typical beach town fun ~ mini golf, ice cream shops, and of course the beach. Plus, there are some great activities for little ones as well. Jekyll Island is a marvelous location to sit back, take a break, and enjoy a vacation full of fun and relaxation.
White Island, New Zealand. Wow! Have you ever thought of visiting New Zealand with your family? How amazing would that be! White Island is in a constant ~ very monitored ~ state of volcanic activity. In fact, guests can only visit as part of an official tour group! So be sure you know that before you go :). This is truly a once in a lifetime experience, and provides the experience of beautiful scenery and education all in one! The tour guides are educated, and your family will learn so much on this outing!
These locations are a great place to start if you are planning a family vacation, bucket list trip, or a celebration! Which of these have you visited? Which ones did you just add to your travel list?
