Front Door HELLO Sign

Fall is coming!  I have always wanted to create a front door “hello” sign, and this is the season for that! Creating a welcoming front door sign is easy with a few simple supplies and beautiful Ultra FX glitter vinyl! I am excited to share this easy DIY project with you today!

This is a sponsored post.  I was provided product from StyleTech Craft for this project.  All opinions are my own. This post may contain affiliate links.  See my full disclosure and privacy policy HERE.

Front Door Hello Sign

You know those super cute “hello” signs you see in the stores and online? You can totally make this yourself! In fact, I think this is a great project for someone who wants a simple way to dress up their front door quickly. With a few simple supplies, that you likely have at home, you can make an adorable “hello” front door sign in an afternoon.

Crafting with vinyl and your cutting machine does not have to be complicated. In fact, some of the simplest projects end up to be my favorites.  Thanks to Ultra FX vinyl that cuts and weeds like a dream {this is my favorite vinyl from StyleTech} and the option to download free fonts, I can create an inexpensive yet cute front door sign.  You know the thing with seasonal decor is just that…it is seasonal! To be honest, not all of my seasonal decor makes it until the same season the following year! What about you?

That is why I love using my Silhouette Cameo and the variety of vinyl from Styletech is ENDLESS.

How to Create a Front Door HELLO Sign

To create this cute front door “hello” sign, you just need a few supplies.  First, you need a blank.  I found a 15 inch circle blank at Joann’s, and gave it a quick coat of spray paint.  I didn’t really want the plain wood look, and it had to be light on our dark brown front door.

Next, I downloaded a script font from DaFont to my software. This was a perfect, wide font for the “hello”.  I sized this to be just shy of 15 inches, and cut it with my machine. The Ultra FX cuts amazingly well, and weeds so easily.  I use a lot of vinyl, and this is my favorite. From here, I just transferred it to the circle using transfer tape.

My blank circle is slatted, so the vinyl sort of bumped over the slats when I applied it.  To make it look smoother, I took an exacto knife and gently ran it between the slats to cut the vinyl…but you can’t even tell! This allows it to lay smoother.

Finally, add your favorite embellishments! To keep it fall themed, I added two wood pumpkins that I had spray painted in a bronze brown color, and some eucalyptus pieces to the top.  This project could not have been easier!
