FROZEN Must Dos at Walt Disney World
Walt Disney World is full of characters, meet and greets, and magic. If you have a FROZEN fan in your family, I have put together a list of FROZEN “must dos” for your next trip to Walt Disney World.
Anna, Elsa, Sven, Olaf, and Kristoff are synonymous with Disney magic. When FROZEN was released a few years ago, it literally took the movie industry, and Disney fans, by storm. And today, it is still VERY popular. Now, with FROZEN 2 in the future, I think that we will see the same phenomenon take over as we did years ago. Little girls will be walking around in Elsa costumes and wigs, moms and dads will be singing “Let it Go”, and Disney fans will be adding FROZEN experiences to their park plans.
Today, I am going to share with your our FROZEN Must Dos for Walt Disney World. Three out of the four Disney parks offer something for the FROZEN fan in your family, and I can’t wait to share those with you today.
FROZEN Experiences at Magic Kingdom
Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park is home to the Festival of Fantasy Parade. You guessed it! You can see Anna and Elsa in the parade. It takes place most days at 3PM, and it begins in Frontierland at Magic Kingdom. Although you can no longer meet Anna and Elsa at the Magic Kingdom, this is a great way to see them and catch a glimpse for shy little ones who may be unsure of an actual meet and greet.
Anna and Elsa also make an appearance in Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire. This castle stage show takes place daily. Mickey and Minnie welcome all their friends during this magical and musical extravaganza. Also, if you happen to be at Walt Disney World from the beginning of November through Christmas, you can enjoy A FROZEN Holiday Wish. This is when Elsa transforms Cinderella’s Castle into a sparkling ice palace. This short performance also features your favorite FROZEN characters and takes place on the castle stage.
FROZEN Experiences at EPCOT
Epcot’s World Showcase now houses Anna and Elsa in their Royal Sommerhus. Hello super cute and fun interaction!!! This is absolutely so well done and fantastic, I can’t even tell you. You just have to see it for yourself. The Norway Pavilion is amazing as it is, being home to Akershus Royal Banquet Hall where you can dine with your favorite Disney princesses. However, it is now home to FROZEN Ever After, as well as the meet and greet spot for Anna and Elsa. The bathrooms in this area are so well themed. I know..they are bathrooms! But if you like the Tangled themed bathrooms at Magic Kingdom, you will LOVE these as well. When you enter the Royal Sommerhus, you feel as if you are in Anna and Elsa’s home. They do meet in the same room, but do not photograph together. I believe they will, though, if you ask.
My favorite trick…score a Fastpass for the FROZEN Ever After attraction. This attraction is one of those that has a cute queue, but I find it very slow moving, sort of like Peter Pan’s Flight. While you are waiting for your Fastpass time, go over to the Royal Sommerhus and spend some time meeting and greeting with the famous sisters. They are in the same room, but you meet Anna first, and then you move to Elsa. Frozen Ever After is a super cute attraction, although I am not sure it’s worth the stand by wait times. I think it is definitely worth a Fastpass, though, if you have a FROZEN fan in your travel party.
While in EPCOT, there is the option of the FROZEN Ever After Sparkling Dessert Party. This experience is booked well in advance, and offers you food as well as reserved seating for the evening show. You are seated right at World Showcase Lagoon. The food and decor is so well themed. I think this is a great value in terms of dessert parties because of the food offerings, and that you are seated at tables. Also, when the show is over, you are privately escorted as a group to FROZEN Ever After to ride this attraction before leaving the park.
FROZEN Experiences at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you can enjoy the For the First Time in Forever: A FROZEN Sing Along. This is now my new favorite show at Walt Disney World. It has climbed to the top, beating out the Festival of the Lion King. This is at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, in the Echo Lake area. It is in the building that previously housed American Idol. The script, and sometimes hilarious improv from the actors, make this a show perfect for everyone. Adults will love it, kids will sing along, as you watch the retelling of the FROZEN story in about 25 minutes. As they retell the story, it leads into the songs, as the audience follows the bouncing snowball on the screen to sing the lyrics.
There is also a character meet and greet for FROZEN fans at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Olaf meets guests just outside of the FROZEN Sing Along experience. As you exit, veer to the right and you will see the queue for meeting Olaf. A Castmember will take you inside, and it smells like summer! This is a super cute meet and greet! Olaf doesn’t sign autographs, so you get a card with his picture on it as a keepsake. This is the perfect end to a FROZEN day at Disney!
Overall, I think that EPCOT offers the biggest value in terms of enjoying FROZEN themed activities during your trip. A few years ago, the entire Norway Pavilion underwent a refurbishment to really focus on Anna and Elsa. Now with FROZEN 2 in the future, I think these experiences will become even more popular. The best selection of FROZEN merchandise is after you exit the Frozen Ever After attraction, in the Wandering Reindeer. Also, let’s not forget the Arendelle Aqua that has been introduced!
Do you have a FROZEN fan in your family? Which of these options have you enjoyed on your Disney trips?
Meeting Anna and Elsa were so much fun! I thought their interaction was awesome!
We absolutely loved the Frozen sing along at Hollywood Studios. Even my boys (who don’t love frozen) loved it!
