Fun Eats and Drinks at the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival

The EPCOT Food and Wine Festival is one of the most popular events at Walt Disney World during the late summer and fall months. Attending the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival should be on your “must do” list if you have a fall Walt Disney World trip planned. I have put together the fun eats and drinks that I found in EPCOT’s World Showcase…but I know there is so much more to enjoy!

I entered the World Showcase, with a list in hand and ready to tackle the food booths this year during Food and Wine.  Going to the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival in the middle of the afternoon proved to be a good plan, as it was not crowded and I could easily meander around the World Showcase, even stopping to do a little shopping and enjoy some music and the atmosphere.

Fun Eat: Ravioli Carbonara in the Italy Pavilion. So, to be fair, I wasn’t thinking this would be anything spectacular.  But I was SO wrong. It was SO good, and very filling. I felt this was one of the dishes that was a really great value for your money. It was cheesy goodness, topped with bacon.  I also liked the creamy filling, and while it was satisfying, I wasn’t super stuffed.

Fun Eat: Grilled Sweet and Spicy Bushberry Shrimp in the Australia Pavilion.  This shrimp was served alongside pineapple, pepper, onion, and snap peas.  So good!  I think a little rice would have been nice, but it was very good anyway! This dish was light, and really tasty. I really loved the sweet of the pineapple with the savory of the peppers and onions alongside the shrimp.  Also, this was a great dish to share.

Fun Drink: Cider Flight at the Appleseed Orchard Pavilion in Canada. This was at the TOP of my list, and I am so glad! I love cider beer, and this was a perfect start to my walk around the world. This did not disappoint.  It is a flight consisting of Ciderboys Lemon Cello Hard Cider, Cherry Apple Hard Cider, and Wood Chuck Hard Cider Spiced Apple. Of the three, the Spiced Apple was my favorite.  They suggest drinking them in that order, BUT the CastMember who served me said to drink the Lemon Cello last because it was the best! It was definitely good, and a close second to the Spiced Apple.

Fun Drink: Smokey Margarita in the Mexico Pavilion. SO good!  This was absolutely refreshing, and the Pineapple Ginger juice really made it good. But what puts it over the top is the spicy salt rim.  It is not sweet at all, and creates this fantastic flavor combination that you just want to keep drinking! It was a sweet and smokey all at the same time, and so good!

Fun Drink: Prosecco, Villa Sandi in the Italy Pavilion. I chose this Prosecco to accompany my Ravioli Carbonara.  I chose this mainly because I like a white wine, and it had a little bubble to it! It was great with my ravioli, although it could have been a bit colder.  I like my wine pretty chilled, and it was SO hot, that having a colder drink would have bene nice. However, the flavor overall was great!

Fun Eat: Blueberry and Almond Frangipane Tart in the Alps Pavilion. This was one of my favorite desserts of the festival! The creme fraiche and blueberries are so refreshing. Also, this is a perfect dessert treat that is refreshing when it is hot…but you aren’t battling the ice cream melting.

Fun Eat:  Spicy Hummus Fries in the Morocco Pavilion.  This one is a little adventurous for me, but still worth trying! These are definitely spicy, but the cucumber salsa and tomato cool that down a bit. I actually preferred the cucumber salsa to the fries!  You can typically find these at Spice Road Table, so they are not super unique to the festival. However, they serve them in a smaller portion, and you aren’t committing to a dining reservation just to try them.

Fun Eat: Belgian Waffle with Berry Compote in the Belgium Pavilion. Belgium? Yes! During Food and Wine, there are smaller tents/pavilions set up to bring in various countries that are not normally part of World Showcase, and Belgium is one of them.  I have to end this list with a sweet treat, right? The Belgian Waffle {think Mickey waffle taste and consistency} topped with the berry compote and whipped cream was fantastic!  Sweet, a little crunchy and savory….so good!

Do you prefer the sweet, or the savory options of EPCOT’s Food and Wine Festival?  Or are you one who likes to partake in all the fun drink offerings?  Thankfully, there is something for everyone ~ no matter your palate.
