Incredibly Easy Monkey Bread
Monkey Bread is an easy, “go to” recipe that your whole family will love! It’s best fresh out of the oven, and I am certain it won’t last long because everyone will love it! Using store bought biscuits, and a few ingredients on hand, you’ll have this out of the oven in no time!
Monkey Bread is a recipe that I learned to make in 4H….many, many, many years ago. Monkey Bread is a great addition to breakfast, but we love to bake it up for an afternoon treat! Since we have been doing A LOT of baking at home, this has become a “staple” treat in our home! I love sharing easy recipes like this with my daughter, as she is learning her way around the kitchen. I am committed to giving her the skills she needs to be confident…and it starts with an easy recipe like this!
This incredibly easy Monkey Bread recipe uses store bought biscuits, and the rest of the ingredients you likely have on hand! Cinnamon, Sugar, and butter are really all you need to bake up this amazing treat. It is also a recipe that my 11 year old can MOSTLY make on her own. She LOVES it!
There are a zillion variations of Monkey Bread, but this classic cinnamon and sugar version is our favorite. Even just a simple addition of chopped nuts makes it yummy!
The key to a great Monkey Bread starts with the pan. Using a traditional bundt cake pan is ideal. This is one of those tools that I thought I’d never use, but I use it way more than I ever dreamed! Using the bundt pan gives it an impressive shape, and I like that you can easily pull it apart when it’s in a bundt shape.
Easy Monkey Bread Ingredients:
- Refrigerated Biscuits {I like the “grands” size, but regular ones will work, too}
- Brown Sugar AND White Sugar
- Butter
- Cinnamon
- Vanilla
See, you probably have all of that already! The one ingredient I don’t ALWAYS have on hand is the biscuits…we like a lot of cinnamon and sugar recipes in our house! But, they are easy enough to pick up at the store.
hints for Making Monkey Bread:
Cut the biscuits into fourths, and then roll them into nice, round balls.
Neatly arranging the biscuits in the pan will make your Monkey Bread look more even.
Adding a mixture of powdered sugar and milk after baking gives it an impressive drizzle!
This can be prepped the night before, and refrigerated overnight. Just bake as directed!
The cozy smell of this Monkey Bread is sure to entice even the sleepiest of people out of bed! Using the refrigerated biscuits in conjunction with the cinnamon and sugar gives it a homemade taste with a store bought base! So easy!
Make sure you give it time to cool in the pan before inverting it onto a serving plate.
