Knock Off Disneyland Chicken Fusilli

Chicken Fusilli is a warm, comforting plate of Disneyland park food. When you can’t be in the Disneyland Parks, cooking up some of this amazing fusilli will bring some magic to your kitchen!

Disneyland is amazing, and I can’t wait to go back!  While I love most food in the Disney parks, Disneyland consistently seems to be up a notch in the food department.  Thankfully, I have Julie from White Lights on Wednesday here to share this beautiful Knock Off Disneyland Chicken Fusilli while I am running around the Walt Disney World Parks with my family.

Knock Off Disneyland Chicken Fusilli

Since Carrie is going to Disney {again} this month, I thought it only proper to share a Disneyland knock off recipe. There were lots of great options – S’mores Bake (not a main dish, darn), Crab Cakes, Lo Mein Chili, and Pork Tenderloin. But it was no surprise that in the end, a pasta won out. I’m a carboholic, and my husband never argues with pasta, sauce, and chicken. It’s one of the reasons I love him. So today I have for you Far-Out Chicken Fusilli. I think I it looks pretty darn close to the real thing, and it tasted great!

Knock Off Disneyland Chicken Fusilli ingredients

  • Dry Pasta {fusilli or rotini will both work well}
  • Dry Alfredo sauce mix
  • Heavy cream
  • Milk
  • Water
  • Pesto
  • Sun dried tomatoes, diced
  • Boneless, skinlesss chicken breast
  • Vegetable oil
  • Salt/pepper
  • Freshly grated Parmesan cheese

You likely have most of these already!  Using the fun fusilli or rotini pastas give it that extra authentic look!

How to Make Knock Off Disneyland Chicken Fusilli

  1. Fill a large pot halfway full with water. Bring to a boil and generously season with salt. Add pasta, and cook according to package directions until al dente. Drain; set aside.
  2. While pasta cooks, heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Season chicken with salt and pepper to taste; add to hot skillet. Cook until chicken is no longer pink inside and begins to brown, 7 to 10 minutes. Keep warm; set aside.
  3. While pasta and chicken cook, make sauce. Add Alfredo sauce mix, heavy cream, milk, and water to a medium pot over medium-high heat. Whisk ingredients to combine, and bring to a boil, stirring frequently to prevent scalding or lumps. Once sauce boils, reduce heat to low. Add pesto and sun-dried tomatoes; stir until well combined, keep warm.
  4. Add pasta to bowl, top with chicken, and then generous helping of sauce. Top with grated Parmesan cheese.

Creating some Disney “knock off” dishes at home is quite easy! While I tend to lean toward the sweet treats, it’s great to have something savory in your recipe box, too! It’s an added bonus when you already have everything at your fingertips and the dish can be made with basic pantry staples.  What do you like to create to bring some Disney magic at home?
