Lemon Hand and Peppermint Foot Scrubs {Homemade Christmas Gifts}

As a gift to the ladies in my Bible study, I made some Peppermint Foot Scrub and Lemon Hand Scrub.  Body scrubs are some of my {FAVORITE} gifts to give at Christmas.  They are super easy and always well received.    I packaged them in 4 oz Ball canning jars that I found at Kroger, and using my Cricut, I cut labels for the lids and mod podged them on.
To keep the label from smearing, since these will be used in the shower or bath, I put a thin layer of mod podge on the surface of the label and adhered the circle to it.  Then, I brushed the top with a light layer of mod podge.

Hot glue the ring to the lid by running a string of hot glue around the inside of the ring and pressing the lid down.

After it was dry, I filled the jars with the scrub and put the lids on.  I wrapped them in some cellophane, and tied with a cute ribbon.  Done!

These were the perfect “little something” for my Bible study ladies.

Lemon Hand Scrub/Peppermint Foot Scrub

Ingredients:
*1/3 cup grapeseed oil or sweet almond oil
*1 cup sugar
*2 Tablespoons lemon juice
*1 teaspoon lemon extract

Directions:
Mix it all together in a bowl, and spoon into glass jars.
**To make Peppermint Foot Scrub, use the same recipe above, except substitute the lemon extract with 2 teaspoons Peppermint Extract….and obviously, leave out the lemon juice :).  To get my Peppermint Foot Scrub to look green, I just added a few drops of green food coloring.
