Liberty Tree Tavern at Magic Kingdom
Liberty Tree Tavern is a fantastic Table Service option when visiting the Magic Kingdom. The friendly staff, family friendly food, and great location make it great for any family! The hearty, plentiful meal served at Liberty Tree Tavern is “Thanksgiving All Year”! Liberty Tree Tavern should be on your Disney Dining list for your next trip to the Magic Kingdom!
Where is Liberty Tree Tavern Located?
Liberty Tree Tavern is located in Liberty Square at Magic Kingdom Theme Park. It is across from the Liberty Belle Riverboat, along the Festival of Fantasy parade route. It is themed after an 18th century home, and each room has a theme! Guests will find six individual rooms themed after famous Americans such as Benjamin Franklin, Betsy Ross, George Washington, and Thomas Jefferson.
This restaurant is located right next to the Diamond Horseshoe. While they are not technically the same restaurant, they have the same menu and share a kitchen. The atmosphere of the Diamond Horseshoe is brighter, more like a “saloon”. We have been seated in both Liberty Tree Tavern and Diamond Horseshoe, and honestly do not have a preference. Sometimes, getting an ADR at Diamond Horseshoe is easier.
What is on the Menu at Liberty Tree Tavern?
The main aspect that brings us back to Liberty Tree Tavern time and again is the menu. It’s very kid friendly, with “normal” food. Turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, salad, oven roasted pork, stuffing, pot roast, and macaroni and cheese are served family style. I do love this with kids, because you are not getting up all the time to go to the buffet and you can just a leisurely meal at the table while they keep bringing you food!
Turkey and mashed potatoes are very familiar foods to most people, and I think that is what makes it so great. The macaroni and cheese is one of our favorite menu items. But really, we go there for the dessert ~ the Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake. This finale to an amazing meal is the MOST amazing dessert. Ever.
While Liberty Tree does have American favorites on their popular Patriot’s Platter, they do offer other menu items. For Plant Based diet guests, they do have an Impossible Meatloaf as well as a Johnny Appleseed’s Warm Apple Cake.
Is Liberty Tree Tavern a Good Value?
In my eyes, yes. There are several reasons why I feel Liberty Tree Tavern is a good value. First, is the amount of food served in proportion to the price is great. It is still one of the more reasonably priced Table Service locations in the Disney Parks, especially at Magic Kingdom. Many guests, ourselves included, return here trip after trip because it is good food at a good price.
In terms of time, it is a great value. Liberty Tree gives you the opportunity to enjoy a nice sit down meal for both lunch and dinner basically in the middle of the Magic Kingdom. It’s quiet, somewhat dark, and relaxing. The staff is so friendly and they are very timely with bringing food to your table. You do not feel rushed but you are also not waiting forever. It is all you care to eat, which is great!
Liberty Tree Tavern has been at Magic Kingdom for a LONG time. It has a great, longstanding reputation with first time and repeat Walt Disney World guests. It is comfortable and great for families! Whether you have picky eaters or hearty eaters, everyone at your table is sure to find something they like and leave with a fully stomach. It is unique, charming, and makes a great addition to your Disney dining rotation!
I highly recommend making a Disney Dining Reservation at Liberty Tree Tavern. It is especially popular around Thanksgiving and the Fourth of July. If you cannot get a reservation, I also suggest you try for Diamond Horseshoe……either way you cannot go wrong!
