Minnie Mouse Birthday Party Banner
I absolutely love making birthday banners. I never knew they were so easy! I had made a pink/lime green one for Ns 1st birthday and reused it for her 2nd. But, since our theme for her 3rd birthday was pink/black Minnie Mouse, a new one was a must! Using my Cricut and some fun scrapbook paper….and of course some ribbon….made this banner super fun!
Minnie Mouse Birthday Banner Materials:
*Scrapbook paper {I found mine at JoAnn’s. I used glittery pink, black, and white sheets}
*Hot glue
*Wide grosgrain ribbon
*Hole punch
*Scrapbook adhesive, tape, glue stick, etc.
*Circle cutter, Cricut, Silhouette, etc.
*Smaller width ribbon
Directions:
1. Using your circle cutter, cut enough 6 in. circles to spell “Happy Birthday _________”. I needed 20 of these and I used the black glitter paper.
2. Cut out the same number of 5 inch circles. I used the bright pink, glittery paper for these.
3. Using your Cricut, or other cutting device, cut out the words “HAPPY BIRTHDAY ____________”. My letters were 3 1/2 inches.
4. Glue the 5 inch circle centered on the 6 inch circle. Then, add your letter to the middle of the 5 in. circle.
5. Cut out 40 circles measuring 3 1/2 inches. These will be your Minnie Mouse ears. Stick these to the back of your LARGEST circle with small pieces of scrapbook tape, glue, etc.
6. At the top of your circles, punch two holes. Thread some ribbon through to tie a “Minnie” bow.
7. When all of your circles are assembled, lay out your wide grosgrain ribbon. Hot glue the circles to this so they’ll hang vertically or horizontally-it’s up to you.
I chose to hang mine vertically because of where we were displaying them for the party. I think these can be used again if I just take off the small circles I used for ears and we go with another pink and black color scheme for a future birthday.
How do you make birthdays special for your kids?
Oh how cute! I love them!!
