Peanut Butter Stuffed Chocolate Pretzels

Do you ever have a grand idea for a recipe, and it just goes out the window?  If not, you’re lucky.  That is sort of what happened when I saw these Double Chocolate Dipped Peanut Butter Pretzels on Pinterest.  Aren’t they impressive?  I was SO excited to make them for our Ladies Bible Study Cookie Exchange Party.  Appearing super easy, and having most of the ingredients on hand, I went out and picked up some sourdough pretzels.  As soon as I opened the box, I knew it was all over.  There was only ONE whole pretzel in the whole box~the rest were broken into pieces.  Ugh!  I knew it wasn’t going to work, and I wasn’t about to go buy every box of pretzels in hopes of salvaging enough to pull this recipe off.  Plan B it was.

I had some waffle pretzels on hand, as well as all the dipping chocolate I had planned to use for the Double Chocolate Dipped Peanut Butter Pretzels.  And these little cuties were created!

Peanut Butter Stuffed Chocolate Pretzels

Ingredients:

1 Bag Waffle Shaped Pretzels

Peanut Butter

White Melting Chocolate

Milk Chocolate Melting Chocolate

Christmas themed sprinkles

Directions:

1.  Spread some parchment paper on your counter and place a layer of peanut on them and sandwich them together.

2.  Melt the white chocolate according to the package directions.  Dip the peanut butter pretzel sandwiches in the white chocolate.  Coat them well.  Lay on the parchment paper to harden.

3.  When the white chocolate has hardened, add the milk chocolate.  To do this, I tried to drizzle it, but I wasn’t getting the effect I wanted.  So I used my small silicone pastry brush to paint the milk chocolate on.  Working quickly, add the milk chocolate and sprinkles.  Be sure to add the sprinkles before the milk chocolate dries.  Otherwise they won’t stick.

4.  Keep in a covered container on the counter or in the pantry.

Not too bad for a Plan B recipe, right?  I think they are super cute, and are very tasty.  Besides, you can never have to many recipes involving peanut butter and chocolate, right?
