Pumpkin Honey Beer Bread
Pumpkin, honey, and the richness of your favorite fall spices are all in this recipe! Pumpkin Honey Beer Bread will be your new favorite fall breakfast treat!
Does anyone else automatically get a craving for all things nutmeg, pumpkin, cinnamon, and apples as soon as the calendar hits mid September? Well, or in my case, right after Labor Day Weekend? It is still typically blazing hot here in Ohio, even until mid September. But when the calendar changes from August to September, I am ready to get out my pumpkins, hoodies, and boots.
Anyone else?
So, I “patiently” wait for the calendar to turn to October so I can start putting pumpkins on our porch, and I can begin baking my favorite pumpkin treats. Nothing is more pleasing to my nose than the aroma of pumpkin, nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves….all wrapped up in my favorite treat! Today I am going to share one of my absolute favorite, and easiest bread recipes-Pumpkin Honey Beer Bread. I am positive you will be filling your kitchen with this amazing dish before fall is over!
What Ingredients Do You Need for Pumpkin Honey Beer Bread?
Luckily, you just need a few fall pantry staples and basic essentials. Be sure you have beer on hand! I like to use a stronger beer in this recipe, sort of a darker stout. Also, sometimes around fall you can find pumpkin or apple flavored beer or cider. Either of those would give it a nice taste!
Otherwise, you will need the following:
- Sugar
- Vegetable Oil
- Beer {room temperature is best}
- Honey
- Eggs
- Pumpkin {NOT Pumpkin Pie Filling}
- Flour
- Salt
- Baking Soda
- Baking Powder
- Pumpkin Pie Spice
- Cooking Spray
How to Make Pumpkin Honey Beer Bread
- First, preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Spray the inside of two 9×5 loaf pans and set aside.
- With the paddle attachment fitted to your stand mixer, combine the sugar, oil, beer, and honey until mixed well. Add the eggs one at a time, until just blended. At low speed, beat in the pumpkin.
- Then, in a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder, and pumpkin pie spice. Keeping the mixer speed on low, add this combination of dry ingredients until it is JUST blended. Do not over mix.
- Divide the batter between the two loaf pans. Bake on the middle rack of the oven for about 1 hour. Check the breads at 45 minutes or so. Cover them with foil for the remainder of the baking to prevent burning.
- Finally, cool the loaves in the pans on a wire wrack for 10 minutes or so, and allow to cool for 30 minutes before slicing.
Are you drooling yet? This pairs perfectly with your favorite coffee or tea, and is an easy bread to make and freeze for later. If you can even stand to not eat it right away! I love it because it is light and airy. With all the fun ales and beers on the market for fall now, this will be a tasty treat for your family to enjoy all fall long!
