Staying Club Level at Walt Disney World

Staying Club Level at Walt Disney World is a magical way to splurge on your Walt Disney World vacation. What is Club Level? What does Club Level include? Is Club Level “worth it”? These are some of the most common questions when it comes to staying Club Level at Walt Disney World. Today, I am going to answer all of these, and maybe you’ll find yourself at Club Level at one of the Deluxe Walt Disney World Resorts on your next Walt Disney World vacation.

One thing to love about visiting Walt Disney World is the endless opportunity to customize and create each trip to match our family’s expectations and budget accordingly.  While some may not always be the most inexpensive options, they end up being “worth it” in the long run.

For example, staying at a Deluxe Walt Disney World Resort and the Happily Ever After Dessert Party continue to be “worth it” for our family. Right in line with those is staying Club Level, or “Concierge Level” at one of the Deluxe Walt Disney World Resorts. While we do not stay Club Level every time, it is something we have enjoyed and felt was a great addition to our time at Disney’s Beach Club Resort.

Club Level at Walt Disney World is one of those that many guests may not know about, or they think it is out of their budget.  However, it may just be the right thing for your family!

What is “Club Level” at Walt Disney World?

Club Level, at Walt Disney World, is a term used for a category of rooms at select Walt Disney World Resorts. Guests who book a “Club Level” room category are entitled to several exclusive perks, services, and amenities.  Keep in mind the rooms themselves are the same set up.  Two queen beds {usually} and a sofa bed or single pull down bed to accommodate a 5th person.

Where can I find a Club Level room category?

Club Level rooms are, on the majority, found only at Walt Disney World Deluxe Resorts.  However, there is an exception to this in the Moderate Resort Category.  Disney’s Coronado Springs – Gran Destino Tower offers Club Level rooms for guests.  Disney’s Contemporary Resort and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa each offer two club level lounges for guests.  The rest offer one.

Disney’s Coronado Springs-Gran Destino Tower is really a deluxe feel to the resort with a moderate category price tag. It has been said that Club Level here rivals, and in some cases, exceeds those at the Deluxe Resorts. I personally love the price point here for the Club Level inclusions. Not to mention Gran Destino Tower is a beautiful addition to Disney’s Coronado Springs. It could easily be a great option for those who want a Club Level experience at a Moderate resort price point.

What amenities and perks can I expect from Club Level?

While this may vary by resort, in general guests who book the Club Level room category can expect the following:

  • Access to the Club Level Lounge for food and drinks throughout the day and into the evening.
  • Nightly turn down service, including chocolate on the pillows
  • Access to Signature Service Cast Members who will work with you to book tours, adjust ADRs, and basically be your “go to” person while you are at the resort.
  • Access to a keyed off area of the resort.  Guest rooms and the lounge are in an exclusive, keyed only area for guests who have booked that room category.
  • Robes and upgraded toiletries. In addition to the typical H20 products, Club Level guests will often find sunscreen, foot lotion, or after sun cream in their rooms.
  • Exclusive Club Level Check In.  Upon arrival, Club Level guests are escorted to the Concierge Lounge area to check in, and perhaps get a glass of wine or soda and some snacks to start off the trip!
  • Some resorts also offer guests a color printed daily itinerary, based on your plans in My Disney Experience.

What can I expect from the Club Level Lounge?

Of all these fantastic perks and amenities, perhaps the best known and most “worth it” is the Club Level Lounge.   First, the lounge offers guests a quiet, relaxing area to rest and unwind during an afternoon break or evening from the parks.

The lounges are furnished with comfortable chairs, tables, TVs, and most have a kids area with kid sized furniture and a few coloring activities or games.

Most of the lounges, along with the actual Club Level Rooms, offer guests nice views of the nighttime shows at nearby theme parks.  While it is not the same as a dessert party viewing, or being in the park, the views are great and you avoid the crowds.

While all these lounge amenities are wonderful, the best one is the access to food and drink. Beginning with coffee at 6:30AM and breakfast a 7AM, guests can access the lounge anytime for various offerings.

Breakfast often consists of fruits, pastries, oatmeal, cereals, perhaps a quiche or another hot offering.  Based on the day and resort, guests may even find Mickey Waffles {or Simba Waffles if you are at Animal Kingdom Lodge} as a Club Level breakfast offering.

Then, from 11:30-3:30, the lounge offers snacks to guests.  These vary from cookies, to Goldfish, to veggies and fruit. You may even find a soup or small hot appetizers.  Along with this, guests can access the refrigerator all day to help themselves to juices, sodas, water, etc.

As the evening moves on, beginning at 5PM, they offer hot and cold appetizers to guests.  With these, you can really enjoy a small meal. Pastas, chicken nuggets, small desserts, fruits, cheeses, etc.  They offer several options, and you could easily make a meal.  Guests also have access to wine, beer, ciders, etc.  Then, between 8-10PM they offer desserts and cordials.

Another great aspect of the lounge is that it gives you a place to relax and wait for your room to be ready, or a later flight home.

Is Club Level worth it?

I think so, particularly if you do not have a Disney Dining Plan. I think that combined with a dining plan, it’s too much and you won’t get the value out of either option.  Many believe, and I have experienced this, that the savings on food by eating two meals or so a day in the lounge makes it worth it.

Club Level is great for guests who plan a few “resort” days.  This gives you the opportunity to really take advantage of the lounge and your resort in general.

Have you considered staying Club Level with your family?  If you have stayed in this room category, what did you enjoy most?
