Steakhouse 71 at Disney’s Contemporary Resort
Steakhouse 71 at Disney’s Contemporary Resort has made its way to the top of my Disney Dining list. Serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, this table service dining experience has quickly become one of my favorites. This family friendly steakhouse located at the classic Contemporary Resort offers a variety of delicious food and drinks for your whole family!
Steakhouse 71 is full of Disney heritage. It is named for the year Disney’s Contemporary Resort opened, and is designed in the style of the 1970s. You may even notice some Florida decor….such as the Orange Bird and citrus groves amongst the decor.
Some of Walt’s favorites, such as Prime Rib Hash, French Onion Soup, and Pork Chops are on the menu. If you choose not to have a full meal, there is also a lounge area! I am excited to share why I am loving Steakhouse 71 with you!
Steakhouse 71’s Location
Steakhouse 71 is located in Main Tower of Disney’s Contemporary Resort. It is easy to find, and just to the end of the check in desk as you enter the lobby. It is formerly known as The Wave, so if you have been to The Wave before, you can easily find it!
To access Disney’s Contemporary Resort, simply make your way to Magic Kingdom, and take the monorail or walk over to The Contemporary. So easy! Because of its location, Steakhouse 71 makes a great dining experience to start or end your day at Magic Kingdom, or even for an afternoon break!
Menu at Steakhouse 71
The menu at Steakhouse 71 is fanatastic. This is one of those table service locations that my family enjoys because the food is “normal”, aka my picky eaters can find something. And, it’s really good.
For breakfast, my favorite is the Seasonal Pancakes. I have had both the Blueberry Lemon and the Pumpkin Spice pancakes. Both times, they did not disappoint. Be sure to ask what the seasonal offerings are! For breakfast, guests can also find Eggs Benedict, Avocado Toast, omelettes, as well as other offerings. Plus, they have Mickey Waffles!
Lunch and Dinner are the same menu. The Steakhouse 71 Onion Rings are amazing, as is the Sea Salt -Dusted Potato Brioche. As far as entrees, there are mainly meat options, ranging from a 6-oz filet to a 14-oz pork chop! You even have a list of 7 sauces to choose from. If steak and pork are not your favorite, there are some chicken options and fish as well.
Of course, there are alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks to choose from, and a menu geared toward children.
The Steakhouse 71 Atmosphere
Disney knows how to do theming and atmosphere. It adds to all the experiences in the theme parks and at the resorts. Steakhouse 71 is no exception! The entry way is stunning, and perfect for any Disney fan!
As you enter, the foyer is full of photos that tell the story of Walt’s creation of Walt Disney World from the beginning These huge, black and white photos, show guests how it emerged into what we know as Walt Disney World today. It gives you an amazing, nostalgic feel as you are entering the restaurant. While you are waiting for your table, you can relax in the lounge area.
The main dining area has a look all its own! One thing I really love is the ample seating. There are booths and tables everywhere, yet you do not feel crowded. If you take a close look at the artwork, you will see artwork depicting the Tomorrowland Transit Authority Peoplemover and Space Mountain around the dining area.
Steakhouse 71 is a wonderful, hidden gem of the Walt Disney World restaurants It has quickly become one of my favorites, and I highly recommend it to guests. While no Disney restaurant is “cheap”, I feel like Steakhouse 71 is more reasonably priced than some others. For the cost of a QS breakfast, you can have a nice sit down experience for just slightly more. It is also a fun location to share some appetizers and have some drinks!
The food at Steakhouse 71 is delicious, no matter if it’s breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It is incredibly family friendly, yet adults will find some delicious meals and drinks just for them! Steakhouse 71 needs to be on your “Disney Dining” list, and makes an excellent dining choice for a nearby Magic Kingdom meal! Will you be eating at Steakhouse 71?
