Top Five Things to Do with Kids at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Disney’s Hollywood Studios is so much more than Galaxy’s Edge. Disney’s Hollywood Studios is home to some of the most thrilling attractions at Walt Disney World, but today I want to share my favorite things to do at Disney’s Hollywood Studios with kids!

Disney’s Hollywood Studios is a great park for kids! While this park attracts a lot of Star Wars fans ~ and for good reason ~ it’s also not to be missed when traveling with kids.

There are plenty of attractions and things to enjoy for the little ones in your travel party at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. I have put together the Top Five Things to Do with Kids at Disney’s Hollywood Studios just for you!

Toy Story Land

Toy Story Land is amazing. The only downside, in my opinion, is Toy Story Land needs to expand! You truly feel like a toy hanging out in Andy’s backyard. It is home to my favorite attraction, Slinky Dog Dash. The height requirement for Slinky Dog Dash is only 48″. So the average 4 year old can probably ride….maybe even a tall 3 year old! While it is a rollercoaster, it is so smooth and the theming is so fun for everyone!

Toy Story Midway Mania is the original Toy Story attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It’s been there for years, and is still one of our favorites! Toy Story Midway Mania is an attraction that my daughter loves to ride over and over ~ and she is 12. That said, it is something our family has enjoyed for MANY years, even back in the old days when you had to run to get a paper Fastpass for it! Toy Story Midway Mania is one of those that you want to ride again and again….and try for a higher score. Our favorite part is at the end when we all check each other’s score and see who had the most points!

Alien Swirling Saucers was part of the Toy Story Land expansion at Disney’s Hollywood Studios from the beginning. It does have a height requirement, but only 32 inches. It’s a super cute addition to Hollywood Studios, and is one that everyone in your family can enjoy. In this queue, you truly feel like you are in Andy’s backyard. Side note, this is one of the Toy Story Land attractions that is best at night!

Disney Junior

Disney Junior has been in households for years. Remember Handy Manny? Little Einsteins? Those are the Disney Junior characters we loved, before moving to Sofia the First and Vampirina! This is one aspect of Disney’s Hollywood Studios that I think they do well. Disney is great about rotating the Disney Junior characters based on what is popular on TV.

Kids can find their favorite Disney Jr. characters at breakfast at Hollywood and Vine. The characters here change as time goes by, as I mentioned previously. They make breakfast fun, and this is the only place you can meet them! They are not in the other parks.

Disney Jr. Play and Dance is also found at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Guests can join some of their favorite Disney Junior friends as they play and dance along to their favorite songs. This show takes place multiple times during the day, so be sure not to miss it!

Meeting their favorite Disney Jr characters is always fun as well! Little ones can currently see Fancy Nancy, Vampirina, and Doc McStuffins in the Animation Courtyard.

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway

This is another magical attraction when traveling with littles. Did you know this is the only attraction that features Mickey and Minnie together?! And, it does not have a height requirement! You can burst into Mickey and Minnie’s world, while this famous duo take a “leisurely” drive to a picnic. The comedy, graphics, and experience make it 100% a must do with kids. It’s an immersive experience from the very beginning!

Character Meet and Greets

Disney’s Hollywood Studios is always my top recommendation for meeting characters. As I mentioned above, you can find Disney Jr characters ONLY at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Plus, your kids will enjoy seeing some unique characters ~ or favorite characters in unique costumes ~ that you can’t see anywhere else. These include:

• Chip
• Dale
• Darth Vader
• Stormtroopers
• Sulley
• Kylo Ren
• Max
• Mickey in his Sorcerer’s Costume
• Minnie in her Red Carpet Dreams Costume
• Olaf

You can also see your classics like Daisy and Donald, Goofy, etc. But along with the Disney Jr Characters, Disney’s Hollywood Studios is a GREAT place to find unique characters!

For the First Time in Forever – A Frozen Sing Along

Frozen remains one of the most popular Disney films. Ever. Even as much as we want to “let it go”, this franchise has taken the world by storm, and we all love a good sing along! And trust me, your entire family will enjoy this. While there are hysterical live actors on stage, the audience is invited to sing along to all the famous FROZEN hits! It’s precious to see the kiddos, and adults, belting out all their favorite FROZEN soundtrack songs. Plus, the actors on stage are absolutely hysterical.

This is a great attraction to enjoy in the middle of the day, when you may not want to leave the park but you need a break. You can even book a Lightning Lane for it, to assure you have a seat!

As you can see, even within these five experiences at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, there is so much to do for little ones! Disney’s Hollywood Studios is much more than “just” shows and Galaxy’s Edge!
