DIY Personalized Easter Bags
DIY Personalized Easter Bags are so easy with the right tools! Stuffing these cute personalized Easter bags is so fun-and the kids will love them!
In our family, our tradition is to give Easter baskets to our Godchildren, as well as our own. Â So, I am always looking for a cute, easy way to make their Easter basket special. Â
And, you know I am always looking for a way to incorporate my Silhouette Cameo into just about every project or holiday. Â I found some medium sized canvas totes at JoAnns in a pack of three. Â Perfect! Â Brought them home, cut some heat transfer vinyl, and I had DIY Personalized Easter Bags!
I set up my butterfly, Lego head, and ladybug pieces on my Silhouette software.  I like to cut all the same type of vinyl at once.  So, I started with the Easyweed HTV.  This is smooth, and in my opinion is the easiest type of HTV to work with.  I think this is a great project for a beginner working with heat transfer vinyl.  The shapes are large and easy to work with, which makes weeding a lot easier.  Plus, there is minimal layering.  Each of these is just two layers, and is very easy to do.
Take the LEGO head for example. To cut this, I cut the head out of gray. Then I removed the gray from the cutting mat and put on some black. I cut the glasses and mouth out of black. Then, I weeded out any extra vinyl. I set my iron on Cotton, at the highest setting. Then, I ironed on the gray head. I peeled off the clear layer, and let it cool for a few seconds. Then, I positioned the face where I wanted it, and ironed that on. I followed the same procedure with the ladybug and the girls’ names on the butterfly and ladybug.
To keep things simple, I cut both Elly and Remi out of the same type of glitter heat transfer vinyl. I used silver glitter for their names. I love the look of glitter HTV, and I have learned that adding that as the top layer is better than trying to layer over it.
These bags will be perfect for road trips, church, and taking their belongings anywhere! Â It seriously took me about an hour to make these. Â And, they are super cute, functional, and unique!
