Tutu Cute Centerpieces

Tutu Cute is the theme for the baby shower my sister and I are throwing for our baby sister.  Such fun!  We decided on the uber-girly theme, knew instantly that we’d go crazy with tulle for the decorations.  And of course, my daughter is already asking if she can wear one of her tutus I’ve made her for the shower!  So cute!  Today, I’d like to share how I turned normal terra cotta pots into Tutu Cute Centerpieces!  It was my first time using DecoArt Craft Twinkles and Glamour Dust. Loved them!  These paints were SO fun!    It was so simple, used simple materials, and turned out great!

Tutu Cute Centerpieces using DecoArt Craft Twinkles and Glamour Dust. So cute!

Supplies:
Terra Cotta Pots
Acrylic Paint
DecoArt Craft Twinkles, 2 oz, Sparkling Pink and Crystal
DecoArt Glamour Dust, 2 oz, Ice Crystal
Paint Brush
Tulle
Hot glue
I gave the terra cotta pots a good coat of bright pink acrylic paint.  Since I was working with the Sparkling Pink Craft Twinkles, I wanted a similar background so they would really stand out.

After the acrylic paint dries, start coating the flower pots in the Sparkling Pink Craft Twinkles.  When this is dry, layer on the Crystal Twinkles.  Repeat these layers several times until you get the coating and shade you’re hoping for.
Give your pots a few coats of Glamour Dust.  I used Ice Crystal.  It’s important to remember that you need to let the coats of Glamour Dust cure for 24 hours before adding another.

Finally, make a tutu out of ribbon and tulle to put around the flower pot.  Add a monogram {I also painted the cardstock and letter “W” with the Sparkling Pink Craft Twinkles}, ribbon wrapped popsicle sticks, and stick them in some styrofoam in the bottom of your pot.  Add some tulle to embellish and you’re done!
These are going to be so cute on the tables at our Tutu Cute Shower!  If you like glitzy, shimmery crafts, then you’ll want to use the DecoArt Craft Twinkles and Glamour Dust.  I’m thinking they’d be AWESOME for Christmas crafts!
