Parmesan Garlic Chicken Wings
Chicken wings are an essential party food. Boneless or bone in, chicken wings are an easy party food and always popular! Chicken wings are a great appetizer, and are so easy to make. Which flavor is your favorite?
I used to be intimidated by the thought of making chicken wings. I like easy party foods……so I typically would turn to dips and cheese/cracker options. But, so many parties have turned into featuring appetizers, and I like to have something more substantial to offer. Also, I just feel blah after eating so many appetizers, do you?
While I do prefer boneless chicken, I recently found that Costco sells a HUGE bag of bone-in chicken wings, and I could not pass up the price. So, these have taken up residence in my freezer to pull out for a quick party food!
Today, I am going to share the BEST Parmesan Garlic Chicken Wings. I like this recipe for a lot of reasons. First, it is easy. Second, it is relatively cost effective since it requires simple ingredients. Also, the chicken isn’t covered in a lot of sauce, and the broiling makes it crispy. I think this could be made just as well with boneless chicken wings, too. You would just have to adjust your baking time a bit.
Ingredients to Make Parmesan Garlic Chicken Wings
2 pounds chicken wing portions {this is about 15 pieces of chicken if you are using the big bag from Costco}
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 cloves crushed garlic
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon lemon juice
2 Tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil
2 Tablespoons cornstarch
1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese
Parsley
How to Make Parmesan Garlic Chicken Wings
First, heat the oven to 400 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat, spray with cooking spray, and set aside.
Next, combine the salt, garlic, black pepper, red pepper, lemon juice, and olive oil. Using a fork, whisk these together until well combined. Pour this mixture over the chicken wings.
Then, toss the chicken so it is evenly coated with the lemon juice mixture. Add the cornstarch, and sprinkle it over the chicken. Toss it again to evenly coat it with the cornstarch.
Finally, add the parmesan cheese, and give it one more stir to evenly coat the chicken with the cheese.
Lay the chicken pieces in one layer on the prepared baking sheet. At this point, you can add some extra parmesan if you want.
Bake the chicken for 40 minutes. Be sure to flip the wings over about halfway through cooking. After the 40 minute have passed, broil the chicken wings for 5 minutes. This will create a crispy outside.
Before serving, sprinkle with some chopped parsley.
Serving these with a side of Ranch or Italian makes them extra good! Or, we like to just eat them as they are.
These are crispy, and since they are baked you can feel a little better about eating them! These will be perfect for your next party, or for a light and easy weeknight dinner. Will you be adding these to your party food Pinterest Board? You will be glad you did!
